MONL & ANA-MI Advocacy Day
Date: Wednesday, September 17, 2025, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Join MONL and ANA-MI at our fall Advocacy Day in Lansing! Members will have the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with lawmakers and engage with legislative leadership about crucial legislative priorities like workplace violence, Medicaid, workforce development and more.
Registration closes on August 8, 2025.
Note: Tell your organization's government relations department you will be meeting with your elected state lawmakers during MONL & ANA-MI Advocacy Day to discuss workplace violence, Medicaid cuts and workforce development. Ask them for any statistics from your organization on these issues.
The current agenda for Advocacy Day is as follows:
8:15a - 8:30a: Registration and Continental Breakfast
8:30a - 9:00a: Welcome, Introductions, Health Legislative Actions this Session and Priorities
9:00a - 9:30a: Approaching Legislators and their Offices (talk through key points to engage legislator or office staff on subject)
9:30a – 10:00a: Activities from the Senate Health Policy Committee
10:00a- 10:30a: Activities from the House Health Policy Committee
10:30a-12:00p: Morning appointments with legislators and their staff (meeting in offices with legislators and their staff on priorities of MONL/ANA-MI, you will not be alone doing this)
12:00p - 1:00p: Lunch with legislators; Sponsors of higher consequences for violence against Healthcare workers
1:00p – 2:00p: Afternoon appointments with legislators and their staff
2:00p – 2:30p: End of day wrap-up & “thank you” notes.
Continuing Education Credit: This educational offering is jointly provided by ANA-Michigan (ANA-MI) and the Michigan Organization of Nurse Leaders (MONL). The individual activity offers participants 4.50 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development credit. ANA-MI is the provider of contact hours for this activity.
Requirements for Successful Completion: Participants must attend the entire event and complete the online activity evaluation at the completion of the event. A link to the evaluation will be provided at the event.
American Nurses Association-Michigan is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
